On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, a webinar on Patterns and Experiences of Library and Information Education in Asia was held with the presence of Dr. Labibah Zain, Associate Professor at the library department of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In this webinar, Dr. Zain spoke of the history of library education in Indonesia. Formal education of this field in Indonesia started in the 1960s, she said. Dr. Zein said that library education in Indonesia focuses on the skills of library management, problem solving, creativity, social media management, planning, teaching, etc., and students carry out library management projects as simulated activities. In Indonesia, she said, two associations are active separately for library departments and libraries. She expressed hope for scientific cooperation with Iranian universities, especially Shahid Beheshti University and the University of Birjand.
It should be noted that a series of webinars on Patterns and Experiences of Library and Information Education in Asia are being held by the cooperation of Shahid Beheshti University and the University of Birjand.
